Jason Peters signed an extension with the Eagles Wednesday that likely will allow him to retire with the team.
The Philadelphia Eagles announced Wednesday that they have agreed to terms on an extension with Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters to an extension keeping him in midnight green through 2018.
Peters' deal is for five-years and will pay the 32-year old $51.3 million with $19.55 million guaranteed.
Many wondered how Peters would bounce back from a twice-ruptured Achilles tendon in 2014, and he answered the critics with a campaign that landed him not only in the Pro Bowl but also on the All-Pro list.
Even at 32 yaers of age, Peters played like one of the preier left tackles in the game in 2013 and played a key role in the team posting the second-rated offense in the league and LeSean McCoy becoming the rushing champion.
Prior to signing the new deal, Peters was set to make $10 million in 2014.
Under the new contract, Peters will earn $10 million in bonuses before July 1st.
B0th Peters and the Eagles will benefit from this deal as Peters gets more guaranteed money both thsi year and moving forward, while the Eagles were able to keep a left tackle who was a first-team All-Pro in two of the last three seasons in the fold at a relatively inexpensive price tag.
