The Philadelphia Eagles seemingly have their starting offensive line in tact for the next couple of years.
According to ESPN's Adam Caplan, the Eagles have signed starting right guard Andrew Gardner to a three-year contract extension. Gardner will remain with Philadelphia through the 2018 season.
Gardner was originally drafted in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL draft by the Miami Dolphins. He signed with the Eagles last offseason as a backup. After multiple injuries to the Eagles offensive line last season, Gardner was thrown into the starting right guard position. He ended up starting the last eight games for the Eagles in 2014.
Going into training camp, Gardner had to win the starting right guard position. He was competing with Matt Tobin, John Moffitt and Julian Vandervelde. Gardner ultimately won the position, as he took the majority of first team repetitions during camp.
The Eagles starting offensive line consists of Jason Peters, Allen Barbre, Jason Kelce, Gardner and Lane Johnson.
