After two games against not so great opponents, the Eagles get their first real test in the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers come in as a legitimate Super Bowl contender with skills at all of the major offensive positions. Meanwhile, the Eagles look to ride the wave of a hot start to another win, as the bye week awaits them.
Here are six players to watch in Sunday's game.
Carson Wentz – The rookie has looked like anything but in his first two games in the NFL. But those two games were against the Browns and Bears. While the Steelers do have the 31st ranked pass defense through two games, something certainly playing into Wentz's favor, the rookie has been so good that to this point, there has been no adversity. There's almost bound to be some here. How he handles and rallies the rest of the team will tell the story here.
Antonio Brown – The Eagles secondary gets to face one of the toughest weapons in the NFL. And don't forget, he has help. Brown is far from the Steelers only go-to option. The Eagles will certainly be keeping close watch on Brown, but he's got the capability to make a play while in tight coverage and even if the Eagles take him out of the picture, there are other weapons to choose from. But Brown is always the one with the capability to change a game in a split second.
Dorial Green-Beckham – The Eagles have said they want to get "DGB" more targets. Time to prove it. To this point, the recently acquired wide receiver has just four catches on the season. That will likely change, if not possibly double or more in Week 3.
DeAngelo Williams – The "backup" to suspended back Le'Veon Bell is currently leading the league in rushing. Tells you all you need to know about the Steelers running game. The Eagles have a stingy run defense, but Williams has used his quickness and agility to be the best back in the league to this point.
Jalen Mills – This one goes back to Antonio Brown, who the Steelers will likely try to have lined up against the Eagles seventh-round rookie. Mills held his own against Alshon Jeffery, albeit with extra protection over the top. Mills is in for a busy day, having to probably cover not only Brown but also Sammie Coates, Markus Wheaton and Eli Rogers.
Ben Roethlisberger – The Steelers veteran quarterback has two Super Bowls on his resume and also has been a common name when looking for a comparison to Wentz's style. The Eagles defense may be in for a taste of what they have on the other side of the ball. With his veteran leadership, Roethlisberger will certainly be able to adjust to what works and what doesn't as the game progresses. This could very well be a case of who can bend without breaking.
