Last week, it was reported that Brett Toth was seeking a military waiver from Army officials that would allow him to sign in the NFL and that he planned to join the Eagles.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the waiver Toth was waiting for came through today.
Former Army OT Brett Toth was given a military waiver today and now will sign a three-year deal to play for the Philadelphia Eagles, per his agent Alan Herman.

This was made possible by action of Donald Trump where military members could seek the ability to play in professional sports right out of college, though Toth does already have one year of service.
Toth will join a deep line and will not have much time to prove himself, as he will have just a few days to practice with the team and attempt to learn the playbook before just one of the two remaining preseason games come around.
Among those who appear to be locked into the 53-man roster, the Eagles have six guys who can play offensive tackle and five that it is their primary position. Among them are Jason Peters, Lane Johnson, Halapoulivaati Vaitai, Jordan Mailata, Isaac Seumalo and first-round pick Andre Dillard.
While Peters is likely to retire after the 2019 season and Big V is a free agent, the Eagles appear poised to carry lineman Iosua Opeta and/or Nate Herbig on the practice squad. That may make it even more difficult for Toth to even make the practice squad.
The Eagles did trade tackle Ryan Bates to the Bills last week, so there will be some reps for him to take.
Toth will need to show some very good pass blocking to secure a spot. He showed his excellence in the run game at Army due to their run-heavy scheme, but he has little tape of pass blocking and could be put out to protect the only health quarterback not named Carson Wentz on the Eagles roster.
As the team has not yet made the signing official, no corresponding move has yet been made.
Update: The Eagles have made the signing official and have released defensive back Jay Liggins in a bit of a surprising move.
