After "reaching" for DE/OLB Marcus Smith with their first-round pick at 26 – a trade down from the original 22 – the Eagles went the other direction in the second round.
The Eagles swapped picks with the Tennessee Titans to move up to pick 42 and drafted wide receiver Jordan Matthews from Vanderbilt.
Matthews provides size for the Eagles at receiver at 6'3", 212 pounds. Matthews was the SEC's all-time leading receiver with 112 catches in his senior season for 1,477 yards and seven touchdowns. In his career, he finished with 24 touchdowns and 262 catches for 3,759 yards in 51 games. Both receptions and yards were SEC records.
The Eagles gave up their own second-round pick at 54 and their fourth-round pick at 112.
