By Paul Bowman, Sports Talk Philly Editor Eagles Waive Aiken, Re-Sign Hector

The Eagles announced Friday that defensive tackle Bruce Hector has been re-signed from the practice squad while wide receiver Kamar Aiken was waived to make room.

Aiken had six catches for 53 yards. He looked like he would break out with five catches for 39 yards against the Buccaneers, but he has made only one catch for 14-yards since then. He has not played much since the Jordan Matthews signing and fellow wideout DeAndre Carter has secured a job as the return man as long as Sproles is out.

Meanwhile, Hector, who had originally made the 53-man roster for the first four weeks, returns without a single stat on his line. He figures to play a huge role in the defense now that Destiny Vaeao has been injured and waived. Vaeao had been the primary rotational piece at defensive tackle before becoming a starter while Haloti Ngata was sidelined over the past few weeks. It isn’t immediately clear where on the depth chart Hector will land, but if Ngata misses another game, Hector and Treyvon Hester will be the only two defensive tackles not named Fletcher Cox.
