Last month, Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor was the featured person in a reported sexual assault act, putting his immediate future in question as the 2016 season rapidly started to approach.
With training camp just one week away, Agholor has been cleared of any pending charges in this case.
Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams issued the following statement on Monday:
The District Attorney's Family Violence and Sexual Assault Unit and detectives from the Philadelphia Police Department's Sexual Victims Unit thoroughly investigated the allegations of sexual assault against Nelson Agholor. As a result of this joint investigation, our staff and the Police reached the conclusion that we lacked sufficient evidence to bring charges against Mr. Agholor, therefore no charges will be filed."
Agholor was accused of a sexual assault act by a 27-year-old dancer at Cheerleaders, a club in South Philadelphia just minutes from the NovaCare Complex, on June 5. Reports surfaced the next morning about the accusations against the Eagles receiver.
Agholor made 23 catches last season for 283 yards and one receiving touchdown while playing in 13 games in his rookie season.
