We have officially seen the last of professional baseball in the 2018 calendar year. Not only did the Japan All-Star Series — featuring Rhys Hoskins and Carlos Santana — conclude on Thursday, but so did the Arizona Fall League on Saturday, which featured eight Philadelphia Phillies prospects and Clearwater Threshers pitching coach Aaron Fultz on the Scottsdale Scorpions roster.
The eight Phillies prospects who participated in the Oct. 9-Nov. 17 league were southpaw Jonathan Hennigan, right-handers Luke Leftwich, Seth McGarry, and Tyler Viza, shortstop Arquimedes Gamboa, first baseman Darick Hall, third baseman Luke Williams, and right fielder Austin Listi. Gamboa is the Phillies' 11th-ranked prospect, according to MLB.com.
Viza punched out 20 of his 94 batters faced, while Leftwich and Hennigan combined to allow just one earned run over 16 games and 17 1/3 innings. Leftwich also struck out 12 batters, while walking just three.
Hennigan was a late addition to the Fall League roster, replacing Sixto Sanchez following a setback in his recovery from right elbow inflammation.
Other than Hall homering a Fall League third-most four times, and Listi the only Phillies prospect to make the AFL East Fall Stars roster, Phillies hitting prospects fairly struggled. Gamboa produced just nine singles, two doubles and three RBI in 59 at-bats, while Williams collected only three hits in 31 at-bats. Listi doubled twice, tripled once, and walked as many times as he struck out (8).

One of Hall's singles was recorded with an 113 mph exit velocity. Listi was one of two Phillies Paul Owens Award winners this past season.
