The Philadelphia 76ers have struggled with consistency this preseason, dropping all three exhibition match-ups. With two remaining, expect to see more of a regular rotation as Brett Brown attempts to give his starting unit time to gel together. On Wednesday night, the Sixers will aim to snap a three-game losing streak in the preseason against a Brooklyn Nets team that is 3-0.

Let's take a look at the key notes for tonight as the Sixers play their second to last preseason match-up:

Joel Embiid to make preseason debut

It's what we've been waiting for since January. Seeing Joel Embiid in game action. After inking a five-year extension earlier this week, Embiid will play tonight when the Sixers visit Brooklyn.

Embiid hasn't played since January after needing surgery to repair a meniscus tear in March. The 7-foot-1 native of Cameroon, fresh off his new contract, has been building up his rehab and participated in full five-on-five at practice over the last week. The Sixers were aiming for his return to be on Opening Night next week against Washington, but it looks like he'll get the opportunity to shake off some rust in the preseason.

Last season in 31 games, Embiid averaged 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game

Fultz will miss game against Brooklyn

After missing Friday night's game against Boston, Fultz returned Monday against the Celtics and looked a little more comfortable, despite his still funky looking free throw form. He didn't take many jump shots at all, but did use his speed to his advantage, driving to the bucket for some easy baskets throughout the contest. He finished with 12 points on 5-for-11 shooting.

Fultz won't get an opportunity to play tonight as he'll sit with right knee soreness in addition to right shoulder soreness. His shoulder is reported to be the reason why his shot has struggled and looked so wacky in preseason, so hopefully some more rest and practice will allow the 19-year-old to work on some things.

With Fultz set to miss tonight's game, his status is yet to be determined for Friday. You have to wonder whether Brett Brown is considering bringing the 2017 first round pick off the bench to start the season as he's ailing, allowing Ben Simmons and Jerryd Bayless to build some chemistry.

New look Nets playing well in preseason

No more Brook Lopez, no problem for the Nets it seems. Although it's the preseason, the Brooklyn Nets look like a much different team with D'Angelo Russell. In three games, Russell leads the team in scoring, averaging 14.7 points while also dishing out 4.3 assists per game in the first three exhibitions.

Meanwhile, the Nets continue to get contributions from former Sixers G-League product Sean Kilpatrick as well. The 27-year-old out of Cincinnati averaged 13.1 points and 4.0 rebounds in 70 games last season and it seems like he's picking up right where he left off. Through two preseason games, Kilpatrick is averaging 14.5 points and 5.5 rebounds.

Brooklyn also added Allen Crabbe this season from Portland. He scored 14 points in one preseason game while fellow new addition DeMarre Carroll is averaging 10.3 points and 5.7 rebounds through three games. The Nets also have Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Jeremy Lin too so they could be a surprise this year, despite the Atlantic Division being led by Toronto and Boston.
