Final: Phillies 5, Rays 4

Philadelphia, PA – A wild game turned into a battle of closers as the Phillies edged out the Rays to win the series.
The Phillies got two early off Jake Odorizzi but he would settle down and pitch an effective five innings before being lifted. It was a move that looked like it would blow up in their face in the 6th when Ben Revere notched the go ahead RBI off Xavier Cedeno. That was far from the end of it though.
Adam Morgan pitched in and out of trouble for four innings but in the 5th, he got hit around. Justin De Fratus grinded out 1.2 innings in relief and was in line for the win after the 6th. Jake Diekman would then surrender a lead off home run in the 7th to even it out at 4-4. Both teams would proceed to empty their bullpens. Freddy Galvis nearly drove in Cody Asche in the 8th but the call was controversially overturned.
Finally it game down to the closers. Jonathan Papelbon would pitch two scoreless innings and avoid a runners on the corners with no outs jam. Brad Boxberger came in for his second inning in the 10th and gave up an early hit to Domonic Brown. After being bunted over to second by Carlos Ruiz, Odubel Herrera came in to pinch hit and had an epic 10 pitch at bat before hitting one into the gap to score Brown and win the game and series.
The Phillies get a deserved day off after a really strong start to the second half and then head to Wrigley on Friday for a weekend series against the Cubs.
