Philadelphia: There is a certain feel as we approach the conference tournament, and teams keep fighting to make their case for March Madness. The Saint Joseph’s Hawks are looking to close out their home schedule as they took on the Rhode Island Rams from Hagan Arena on Senior Night. The Hawks come into game off a win over Fordham on Saturday.

Before the game, they would honor the senior players in Justice Ajogbor & Erik Reynolds ll

 

Going into the game, Erik Reynolds II needed 3 points to break Jameer Nelson’s career scoring record at Saint Joseph’s & Jameer Nelson would be in attendance to see if the record would be broken & Sixers Joel Embiid was also in attendance

How the game went:
The Rams would get the scoring started & then the Hawks would get on the board with 3 foul shots from Xzayvier Brown as he would score the Hawks’ first 5 points of the game. Erik Reynolds II would tie the scoring record at the foul which as it would cut the rams lead to 30-25 with 5:50 left in 1st half, History would be made with 3:10 left in the first half as Erik Reynolds II would set the record on 3 pointer which gave the Hawks the lead at 32-30

During one of the timeouts in the 1st half, they would honor Erik Reynolds for breaking the record

The Hawks would take a 38-36 lead into half & going into the 2nd half & what can the rams do to get back into the game & The Hawks came out and jumped on the Rams with their 3 pointers & at one point the Hawks would have a lead of 17 at 70-53 with 9:31 left. The Rams would attempt to cut into the lead and get it down to 11, but the Hawks kept the pressure on and would score 53 points in the second half for a 91-74 win & getting their 20th win of the season & sending the seniors out with a win
