The Phillies have swapped pitchers this morning with their Triple-A affiliate. Phillippe Aumont heads down to Lehigh Valley while Ethan Martin joins the big club for the first time this season.

Phillippe Aumont, a once highly-rated prospect for both the Phillies and Mariners, has been a dud to say the least and this demotion comes as a surprise to no one. During his short stay with the Phils, Aumont gave up the go-ahead runs against the Mets on Sunday and served up a grand slam to the Mets Wilmer Flores in last night's embarrassing 11-2 loss. He threw 19 strikes and 17 balls in his two outings.
Here are some notable quotes from him after yeterday's game. (via CSNPhilly.com)
"It's just hard mentally to go down [to the minors] and know that you didn't do it, and you weren't good enough to stick up here and you've gotta go back down and work on your stuff to get back on track. You might get another opportunity, but you might not. When you go down, you never know when you're gonna come back up. If you missed your first opportunity, are you gonna get a second one or third one? Those are the types of things that can go through your mind."
Joining the team for the first time this year will be 24-year-old right-hander, Ethan Martin. After being shutdown in spring training for shoulder issues, Martin has been working his way back to full health in Triple-A. In eight games out of the bullpen for the Ironpigs, Martin has compiled a 1.69 ERA (2ER in 10.2IP). The Phils farmhand has scattered nine hits, walked four and struck out 11. Originally slated to be a starting pitcher, Martin's effectiveness out of the bullpen for Lehigh Valley will hopefully bring some much needed solidity to the Phillies bullpen moving forward. Last season, Martin's stint with the Phillies didn't go to well. He posted a 2-5 record with a 6.08 ERA over 40 innings, starting eight games and appearing out of the bullpen in seven others.
