It's hard to believe, but Roy Halladay's perfect game was a whole five years ago today. In just his second month of his Phillies career, Halladay was completely dominant. The game featured Wilson Valdez and Juan Castro on the left side of the infield (and made some nice plays in the absence of Rollins and Polanco).
Many fans missed part of the action, as the Flyers and Blackhawks were playing game one of the Stanley Cup Finals. But, thanks to technology, fans began to learn of Halladay's brilliance and fans had time to switch over to the perfect game at the conclusion of the hockey game. Halladay certainly helped Philadelphia fans turn to smiles after a 6-5 Flyers defeat at the hands of the Blackhawks.
