By Kevin Durso, Sports Talk Philly editor Flyers Announce Training Camp Roster, Schedule

Rookie Camp is set to come complete with the Rookie Game on Wednesday, setting the stage for the start of main training camp for the Flyers on Friday, Sept. 13.

In total, 63 players will participate in Flyers training camp — 34 forwards, 22 defensemen and seven goalies. Training camp will run from Sept. 13 with regular on-ice sessions through Sept. 19. Following an off day on Sept. 20, the team will be back on the ice for sessions from Sept. 21 through Sept. 26, the team’s final preseason game in the US before they head to Europe for a final preseason game in Switzerland and the regular-season opener in Czech Republic.

The training camp on-ice sessions will be split into three groups for the first three days of camp. The first group on the ice will be Group C from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The next group on the ice will be Group A from 10 to 11:45 a.m. Group B will take the ice from 1 to 2:45 p.m.

Starting on Monday, Sept. 16 and continuing on Tuesday, Sept. 17, the team will split the sessions into game group and non-game group. The players participating in preseason games that night will skate at 10:30 a.m. The non-game group will follow from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. An additional group will skate from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on both days.

Times for the on-ice sessions starting on Sept. 18 and continuing through Sept. 26 will be made available at a later date.
