Flyers-Blues: Game 14 Preview

By Kevin Durso, Sports Talk Philly editor

The month of November got off to a rocky start as the Flyers were shut out for the third time this season on Wednesday night in Chicago.

The Flyers finish up a stretch of three games in four nights and four of their last five games on the road by taking on the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night. Game time is set for 8 p.m.

With the Flyers defense heavily depleted by injuries, Ivan Provorov is playing upwards of 30 minutes a night. One night after playing setting a new career high with 29:51 of ice time against Chicago, he'll get a heavy workload again on Thursday.

Brayden Schenn faces his former team for the first time. The trade on draft night was certainly shocking, but Schenn's getting a new beginning in St. Louis. He's not off to a bad start with 11 points in his first 13 games, including five in his last five games.

Michal Neuvirth's last start against Ottawa was a forgettable one, allowing five goals in the Flyers 5-4 loss. But Neuvirth has otherwise been solid all season, despite losses in three of his first four starts.

Jake Allen is riding a good hot streak right now. Not only has he won seven of his first 10 games this season, he also has won four of his last five starts and allowed two goals or less in all of them.

Flyers Projected Lineup

Lineup Notes

After leaving Wednesday's game with an upper-body injury, Radko Gudas is out for Thursday night's game. Gudas took a hit to the head from an inadvertent elbow by Brandon Saad

With Gudas out, Will O'Neil will crack the lineup, making his NHL debut, alongside Mark Alt on the third pairing. It also leaves Brandon Manning and Ivan Provorov as the most experienced defensemen in the lineup.
