Flyers-Blues: Game 42 Preview

By Kevin Durso, Sports Talk Philly editor

The Flyers are still searching for their first win of 2019. Their loss to the Flames in overtime was the team's sixth straight, dating back to Dec. 27.

The Flyers opponent on Monday is another team that has had a disappointing season. The St. Louis Blues are tied with the Flyers at 36 points, but with two fewer games played this season, sit one position ahead of the Flyers in the league standings. Both teams are just one point out of the NHL's basement.

Game time is at 7 p.m.

Travis Konecny got on the board in Saturday's game and brought an energy level that is certainly needed. Perhaps scoring a goal can get his offense going.

Ryan O'Reilly is the Blues All-Star this season and for good reason. He has far and away been the Blues best player this season and is a good all-around player with scoring ability, good vision and defensive talent.

Carter Hart delivered a much better performance on Saturday, but still came out on the losing end in the end. Still, that was a good response to his first real poor game in his NHL career. He gets another chance in goal on Monday.

Jordan Binnington makes his first career start in the NHL. The 25-year-old has appeared in two games this season, posting a 3.53 GAA.
