Flyers-Bruins: Game 10 Preview

By Kevin Durso, Sports Talk Philly editor

Another slow start sent the Flyers to a 4-5-0 record through nine games. The team has allowed the first goal in eight of nine games this season, forcing them to play from behind constantly.

Getting back on the right side of the win column won't be easy against one of the NHL's best and most dangerous lines. The Bruins top line of Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand is off to a torrid start with no signs of slowing down.

The Flyers face the Bruins in Boston at 7 p.m.

Back on the top line, the goal is for Travis Konecny to be a producer and help get his linemates going. Konecny has looked faster and more confident since scoring his first goal of the season last week.

You really could have picked anybody on the Bruins top line, but David Pastrnak has 10 goals already in nine games, tied for the league lead. Pastrnak has also turned into a Flyers killer of sorts in just 10 career games with five goals and five assists.

2-4-0, 3.58 GAA, .882 SV% 2-0-2, 1.73 GAA, .933 SV%

Brian Elliott gets the start for the Flyers. He did a solid job in Monday's game before allowing a third-period goal on a breakaway that essentially put the game out of reach. This is Elliott's eighth start of the season.

Usually it's Tuukka Rask between the pipes for Flyers-Bruins matchups, but this time the Bruins will turn to Jaroslav Halak. Halak has been off to a strong start, with two wins and a 1.73 GAA as the new backup for Boston.

Lineup Notes

Lots of line shuffling for the Flyers. Travis Konecny is back on the top line. Wayne Simmonds goes back to the third line. Mikhail Vorobyev re-enters the lineup as the third-line center. Corban Knight takes Michael Raffl's place of the fourth line. Andrew MacDonald also slots back in for Christian Folin. Michal Neuvirth will serve as backup goalie for the game. For now, it appears Jordan Weal is the odd-man out, but Oskar Lindblom has been ruled a game-time decision, so Weal may still play.
