It was a very successful week for the Flyers, who claimed wins in four straight games this week. The winning streak was led by their captain Claude Giroux, who took home the NHL's 1st Star of the Week honors.
Giroux scored three goals and added three assists for six points in the four games this week, with all points coming in the final three games. He posted three points in the Flyers win over Montreal on Thursday, adding goals in both games this weekend in Arizona and Vegas. He also had an assist in Sunday night's win in Vegas.
Giroux said following Tuesday's game over the Hurricanes that he needed to score more, being heavily critical of his performance in the game.
Giroux has experienced a resurgent season. The six-point week ties him with Jake Voracek for the team lead in points with 64 and his 18 goals this season have him on pace for his highest goal total since the 2014-15 season.
Johnny Gaudreau and Devan Dubnyk rounded out the NHL's Three Stars of the Week.
Giroux and the Flyers are back in action on Tuesday night when they host the New Jersey Devils at 7 p.m.
