We are still a ways off from the full 2015-16 schedule for the Flyers being released, but one game in the preseason has an official date and location.

The Flyers and New Jersey Devils will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016 in a preseason game at PPL Center, the home of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in Allentown.

This will be the second NHL game played in Allentown. The Flyers and Islanders met in the preseason last year on Sept. 21, with the Flyers claiming a 5-3 win.

"We are very excited to have the Flyers playing again in Allentown," Flyers president Paul Holmgren said in an official press release. "We are absolutely thrilled with our affiliation and look forward to bigger and better things in the future. Our fans in The Lehigh Valley are great and this game will give them the opportunity to see not only current Flyers but future Flyers as well."

"This game is a true celebration of the Flyers/Phantoms affiliation and the organization’s collective commitment to growing the sport of hockey in the Lehigh Valley," Phantoms co-owner and governor Rob Brooks said in an official press release.

The rest of the Flyers preseason and regular season schedule for 2016-17 is expected out later this offseason. The Flyers will celebrate their 50th anniversary season in 2016-17 with several special events planned throughout the season.
