With the 48th overall pick, the Flyers selected the first goalie taken in the 2016 Draft, picking Carter Hart.
Hart was among the top-ranked goalies in the draft, and joins a huge pipeline of prospect goalies in the Flyers system.

Hart is a 6'0", 177-pound netminder with a very good skill set. He had six shutouts for Everett last season, posting 35 wins in 63 games with a 2.14 GAA, ranked third in the WHL, and a .918 save percentage.
Even with his average size, his focus is good and he possesses a strong lateral game in the crease while being good with both his blocker and glove hands. His positioning is another one of his strengths and he is quick on his feet, strong on recovery and has good rebound control.
"Plays at the top of his crease with an economy of movement to get square to the shooter," ISS scout Ted Barrie writes in the 2016 NHL Draft Guide. "Tracks the puck well in traffic. Needs to work on blocker deflections to the outside."
"He’s not a monster, but he also won’t let his frame dictate his worth," writes Ryan Kennedy of The Hockey Writers. "Hart would like to improve on his puckhandling ability, but otherwise he has a lot of nice attributes. The youngster prides himself on his calm in the crease and he plays a reactive hybrid style."
