Flyers Draft Pick Scouting Reports: Day 2 Picks

After making three selections in the second round, the Flyers still had seven picks remaining on the day in the final five rounds. They traded one, a fourth-round pick, to the New York Islanders for a fourth-round pick next year.

But the other six picks went to use, as the Flyers finished the weekend with 10 new prospects.

We already profiled last night's first-round pick German Rubtsov and today's second-round picks Pascal Laberge, Carter Hart and Wade Allison. Here's a look at the rest of the picks from Day 2.

Carsen Twarynski (3rd Round, 82nd overall) – Twarynski is a 6'2", 198-pound center who played alongside Travis Sanheim and Radel Fazleev with the Calgary Hitmen in the WHL. Twarynski scored 20 goals and had 25 assists last season. On a team that didn't have any real established forwards in the CHL, Twarynski emerged as the leader among the group. He played consistently with a well-rounded game. Good skater, passes the puck well and has a good shot and he plays with an edge while remaining disciplined and uses his size well. A very strong competitor and hard worker, this could be a pick well spent by the Flyers.

Connor Bunnaman (4th Round, 109th overall) – A 6'1", 207-pound center, Bunnaman scored 16 goals and added 22 assists for the Kitchener Rangers in the OHL. A smart and competitive athlete, Bunnaman isn't going to be the big scorer, but provides stability to a forward group. He isn't going to have high expectations — think third-line type player — but given his abilities in his own zone, he's a very capable penalty killer and defender while being strong on the puck and distributing it well to teammates.

Linus Hogberg (5th Round, 139th overall) – At just 17 years old, and just 11 days older than the cutout for draft eligibility, there's a lot of room for growth with Hogberg, but he did start to emerge in the Swedish leagues, playing in the SHL for two games last season. Not afraid to jump into the play and ripe with offensive skills, his skating ability and size make him a good player for the Flyers to start molding now while still at a young age.

Tanner Laczynski (6th Round, 169th overall) – The 6'0", 190-pound center put in a lot of work last offseason to build on his frame and it showed, as he started to produce at over a point-per-game rate, with 63 points in 52 games last season between Lincoln and Chicago in the USHL, 11 goals and 23 points in 19 games for Lincoln alone. The Ohio State commit has room for growth, but already qualifies as a smart player with scoring talent and elusive passing ability.

Anthony Salinitri (6th Round, 172nd overall) – A 5'10", 168-pound center who played alongside the likes of Travis Konecny and Jakob Chychrun with the Sarnia Sting last season, Salinitri scored 17 goals and had 30 points in 62 games. A good combination of speed and skill, Salinitri uses quick feet and hands to move the puck well in tight situations. Another good two-way prospects, he plays well in the defensive zone and on the penalty kill but also works the cycle well on the forecheck. Salinitri is also just 17 years old, so while he needs to build up strength, there's time for him to grow.

David Bernhardt (7th Round, 199th overall) – A 6'3", 203-pound defenseman, Bernhardt scored 10 goals and had 38 points in 45 games in Swedish juniors, ranking third on his team and first among defensemen. A big defenseman, he skates well and carries the puck, but needs to refine his skating in certain areas. His production and shot are good, but there is a lot of improvement needed for this prospect.
