The Philadelphia Flyers announced that left wing Scott Hartnell and the team have agreed to a multi-year extension. The terms of the deal were not immediately clear from the report, which comes from from the Flyers website.

“We are pleased to announce that we have agreed with Scott on a multi-year extension,” said Holmgren. “Scott has been a very good player for us over the last five seasons and we look forward to many more good years to come.”
Hartnell had high praise for the Flyers organization and the fans in the release:
“I am very happy to be staying in Philly to continue my career playing in front of the best fans in the NHL," said Hartnell. "I would like to thank Mr. Snider and the entire Flyers organization.”
Hartnell, originally drafted by the Nashville Predators, has spent the last five seasons with the Flyers. Durable, Hartnell has played no fewer than 80 games in any of his seasons with the Flyers.
Hartnell has a 2011 All-Star appearence to his credit. Last season, Hartnell had 37 goals and 30 assists for the Flyers.
