It’s been a week full of absences from the lineup for the Flyers. They have a host of injuries, from leading scorer Travis Konecny missing the last three games with a concussion to losing Scott Laughton and Tyler Pitlick early in Saturday’s game to the devastating news of Oskar Lindblom’s battle with Ewing’s sarcoma.
In Sunday’s game, the Flyers were even more shorthanded when Joel Farabee was called for a five-minute major for interference and given a game misconduct. It didn’t take long for the league to get involved and Farabee had a hearing on Monday.
As a result, Farabee has been suspended for three games.
Farabee has played in 27 games this season, scoring three goals and adding eight assists for 11 points. The Flyers have already had to scramble to fill out the lineup, calling up Nicolas Aube-Kubel and Carsen Twarynski for Sunday’s game. They may need to do the same this week if one of the injured players is not available.
The Flyers have four games in the next six days before the holiday break, starting at home on Tuesday night against the Anaheim Ducks. Farabee will be eligible to return next Monday when the Flyers host the New York Rangers in the final game before the holiday break.
