The Philadelphia Flyers had a little fun at the expense of the Walking Dead’s Steven Yeun ahead of their matchup against the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday. The Flyers are currently battling for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and will be trying to improve their NHL sports betting odds of making the playoffs with a win against the Red Wings.
Yeun, who is a big Red Wings fan took to Twitter to wish his team luck before the game. The Flyers noticed the Tweet and responded with a Tweet of their own saying, "Let's go Lucille."
The response from the Flyers was referring to what is currently going on in the Walking Dead. Yeun, a fan favorite was killed in the comics that the show is based on by a villain wielding a baseball bat wrapped in barb wire. The bat is referred to as Lucille in the comics and television show.
The Philadelphia Flyers are in the thick of the playoff race right now which is a surprise because they were picked to miss the playoffs by a lot of hockey experts. With only a few points separating the Red Wings and Flyers, they can’t afford to lose this game.
While the television show ended its season with a cliff hanger before fans found out who was on Lucille’s receiving end, you can bet that Philadelphia fans will be hoping that it is Yeun’s character if the Red Wings win the game.
Since the Walking Dead doesn’t return until October, Philadelphia fans will have to wait like the rest of us until the show returns to find out if their wish will be granted, but they should also be ready for the backlash they will face from fans of his character, who are just as passionate about the show as Flyers fans are about their team.
