The full NHL schedule for the 2018-19 season will be released on Thursday, but teams dropped the news of home opener dates on Wednesday afternoon.
The Flyers home opener will be on Tuesday, Oct. 9 against the San Jose Sharks at Wells Fargo Center.
The Flyers will open the season on the road and for the third straight season, it will be on the West coast. The Flyers will face the Western Conference champion Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday, Oct. 4.
The Flyers opened the last two seasons in California, facing the Kings to open the 2016-17 season and the Sharks to open the 2017-18 season.
The full schedule will be released on Thursday, though it wouldn't be a surprise for the Flyers to play another game on the road before playing their home opener on Oct. 9.
