On Saturday, the Flyers first locked up their spot in the playoffs with a 5-0 win over the New York Rangers. Then, they learned their opponent after Saturday night's action.
It will be the Flyers facing the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round. With the NHL regular season complete, the full first-round schedule is now known.
Game 1 of the Flyers-Penguins series will be on Wednesday, April 11 at 7 p.m. The rest of the schedule is as follows:
- Game 1 – Wed. April 11 at Pittsburgh, 7 PM
- Game 2 – Fri. April 13 at Pittsburgh, 7 PM
- Game 3 – Sun. April 15 at Philadelphia, 3 PM
- Game 4 – Wed. April 18 at Philadelphia, 7 PM
- Game 5 – Fri. April 20 at Pittsburgh, TBD (if necessary)
- Game 6 – Sun. April 22 at Philadelphia, TBD (if necessary)
- Game 7 – Tues. April 24 at Pittsburgh, TBD (if necessary)
Broadcast information is expected to be released for the first-round series in the coming days.
So the stage is set. The Flyers will open their series against the Penguins on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. from Pittsburgh.
