Not much will be known about the 2016-17 NHL schedule until the summer. But for now, one game between the Flyers and Penguins will hold special meaning.

The Flyers and Penguins will face off in an outdoor game next season. The NHL made this announcement a couple of weeks ago.

Now, the NHL has announced a date and time change that will move the game into primetime. The game will now be held on Feb. 25, one week after the originally announced date, and start at 8 p.m. NBC will carry the broadcast.

The game is the third outdoor game for the Flyers since the inception of the Winter Classic in 2008. It is the Penguins fourth outdoor game and second held at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. The Flyers are 0-1-1 in those games, with an overtime loss in Boston and a regulation loss to the Rangers in Philadelphia. The Penguins are 1-2-0 with a shootout win in the first Winter Classic in Buffalo and two regulation losses in Chicago and to Washington in Pittsburgh.

The outdoor game coincides with the 50th anniversary seasons for both teams, which entered the NHL as part of the first expansion group in 1967.
