Chuck Fletcher started making roster decisions last Friday by dealing Jordan Weal to Arizona for a minor-league defenseman and a draft pick. On Monday, another member of the Flyers bottom six was in the news.
The Flyers have placed forward Dale Weise on waivers, GM Chuck Fletcher announced on Tuesday.
Weise was signed on the opening day of free agency in 2016, signing a four-year deal. Weise had eight goals and 15 points in 64 games in his first season with the Flyers in 2016-17. Last season, Weise played in just 46 games, scoring four goals and eight points.
This season, Weise had been placed on waivers prior to the season opener, but stayed on the roster due to injuries. In 42 games, Weise had five goals and 11 points. Weise was also scratched for Monday's game, the first time he was a healthy scratch since making his season debut on Oct. 10.
It is expected that Weise will clear waivers. He will likely go to Lehigh Valley as a result.
The Flyers get back on the ice on Wednesday night against the Boston Bruins at 7:30 p.m.
