From the close of last season to the dawn of this season, there are already noticeable changes to the Flyers power play. It hardly seems to matter.

The power play continued a strong start to the preseason, going 3-for-4 as the Flyers shut out the New Jersey Devils in a 4-0 win on Thursday night at Wells Fargo Center.

The Flyers wasted no time getting on the board. Brayden Schenn capitalized on a great pass from Andrew MacDonald to net the Flyers first power play goal at 4:51.

Less than three minutes later, the Flyers were on the power play again. This time, Vincent Lecavalier deflected a shot by Jake Voracek past Corey Schneider to give the Flyers a two-goal lead.

At 12:57, one of the Flyers young prospects got on the board. Shayne Gostisbehere fired a shot high over the glove of Schneider for the team's third power-play goal of the period and the first goal of Gostisbehere's career – albeit in the preseason.

Another Flyers youngster added the fourth goal in the second. At 10:05, Scott Laughton finished a rush with Voracek by tipping a pass through the five-hole of Schneider to make it 4-0.

Steve Mason started the game and was lifted for Rob Zepp following Laughton's goal.

Mason stopped all eight shots he faced.

Zepp closed the game stopping 16 shots in the final 30 minutes to complete the shutout.

Laughton finished with two assists to go along with the goal. Voracek had two assists on the night.

The Flyers return to the ice on Sunday in Newark to face the Devils. The opening face-off is set for 7 p.m.
