With the Flyers roster now down to 32, the last three games of the preseason are about narrowing down the final 23 that will make the roster for opening night. Among the players still around trying to make the team are Ivan Provorov and Travis Konecny.

They will both be in the lineup again as the Flyers host the New York Rangers in their final home preseason game on Monday night at 7 p.m.

The Flyers last game on Saturday served as the preseason debut for Sean Couturier, Jake Voracek and Shayne Gostisbehere and all three picked up points in their return.

Despite that, their debut and return to the lineup showed some communication issues, sluggish play and costly mistakes with the puck. Getting a few more preseason games under their belt will certainly help.

In a bit of a surprise, Claude Giroux appears to be making his return to the lineup after taking the morning skate centering a line with Konecny and Brayden Schenn. Dave Hakstol had previously said Giroux would likely not play in a game until later this week, likely Thursday's road game against the Rangers.

The last few games of the preseason also serve as further preparation for the regular season, as teams' rosters start featuring more NHL players and fewer players on tryouts or minor-leaguers. The Rangers lineup on Monday reflects this.

Henrik Lundqvist will be in goal and the Rangers will have players like Rick Nash, Derek Stepan, Ryan McDonagh and J.T. Miller in the lineup.

Here is the Flyers projected lineup for Monday's game based on the morning skate:

Travis Konecny-Claude Giroux-Brayden Schenn
Matt Read-Sean Couturier-Jake Voracek
Scott Laughton-Nick Cousins-Colin McDonald
Taylor Leier-Jordan Weal-Roman Lyubimov

Michael Del Zotto-Radko Gudas
Ivan Provorov-Shayne Gostisbehere
Sam Morin-Andrew MacDonald

Steve Mason (Michal Neuvirth)

Monday's game will be televised on CSN and can be heard on 97.5 The Fanatic.
