The Flyers have recalled defenseman Travis Sanheim from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on an "emergency conditions," GM Ron Hextall announced on Friday.

Sanheim made the Flyers out of training camp and appeared in 35 games posting five points. Since being sent down to the Phantoms on Jan. 22, Sanheim has posted 16 points in 18 games, including 15 assists.

Sanheim had one goal and four assists in his time with the Flyers.

The emergency conditions mean that another Flyers player, likely a defenseman, is injured and will not be able to play in Saturday's game. By calling Sanheim up on emergency conditions, the move does not count as one of the four minor-league call-ups the Flyers are allotted after the trade deadline.

Sanheim is expected to play in Saturday afternoon's game against Winnipeg. The Flyers have not disclosed any information about any injuries.

The Flyers will host the Winnipeg Jets looking to snap a five-game losing streak on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
