The Flyers announced on Friday that they have recalled forward Phil Varone from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms ahead of their five-game road trip starting Saturday in Buffalo.
Varone will be available for Saturday's game and wear No. 44. No corresponding move was made at this time.
Varone was named the AHL MVP last season, scoring 23 goals and posting 70 points in 74 games. This season, Varone leads the team with 17 assists and 28 points. In his last nine games, Varone has scored seven goals and added five assists.
The Phantoms are currently in third place in the Atlantic Division in the AHL with a 13-7-1-1 record.
The Flyers are set to take on the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday afternoon. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
