Flyers return top prospects Provorov, Sanheim, Konecny to juniors

If one of the Flyers top prospects is going to make the roster right out of training camp, it is not going to be a recent first-round pick.

The Flyers previous three first-round picks, 2014 pick Travis Sanheim and 2015 picks Ivan Provorov and Travis Konecny, were returned to their junior teams on Wednesday by the Flyers.

Provorov appeared in two preseason games, picking up an assist in Tuesday's win over the Rangers. Konecny had a goal and an assist in two games. Sanheim played in just Tuesday's game, logging nearly 19 minutes of ice time.

Provorov returns to the Brandon Wheat Kings in the WHL and Sanheim joins him going to the Calgary Hitmen in the WHL. Konecny returns to the OHL as a member of the Ottawa 67's.

The Flyers next preseason game is on Friday night at Wells Fargo Center against the New York Islanders.
