Flyers select D Travis Sanheim with 17th pick

After spending most of Friday trying to trade up for the top pick with Florida, the Flyers ended up holding with the 17th pick.
With the 17th pick, the Flyers selected defenseman Travis Sanheim from Calgary in the WHL. Sanheim scored five goals and added 26 assists in 67 games with Calgary in 2013-14. The 6'3", 185-pound defenseman is from Brandon, Manitoba.
Several forwards were still on the board at 17, including Kasperi Kapanen and Alex Tuch.
