One of the Flyers first-round draft picks has officially been signed.
The Flyers and defenseman Ivan Provorov agreed to a three-year entry-level contract on Friday. The deal is the maximum at entry level, worth $925,000 per year with bonuses.
Provorov, the seventh overall pick at last weekend's draft, is on the roster for Flyers development camp starting next Tuesday and could have an outside chance at making the team's roster for the 2015-16 season.
Colin McDonald signs two-way deal
The Flyers also added right wing Colin McDonald on a two-way deal. McDonald spent last season in the New York Islanders organization. He scored two goals and added six assists in 18 games at the NHL level last season.
As a member of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the Islanders AHL affiliate, McDonald scored 14 goals and added 19 assists in 40 games.
McDonald has played for three teams in his five NHL seasons. He was a second-round pick of the Edmonton Oilers in 2003. He is expected to play for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms next season.
Del Zotto update
Restricted free-agent defenseman Michael Del Zotto officially filed for arbitration on Friday, though talks with the Flyers are ongoing and will continue in the near future.
Del Zotto, 25, scored 10 goals and added 22 assists in 64 games last season. It was his highest point production since the 2011-12 season, his third in the NHL.
