The Flyers secured another piece of their long-term puzzle on Thursday, signing Jakub Voracek to a max deal.
The deal is worth $66 million over eight years, for an AAV of $8.25 million. Voracek was set to hit the free agent market next season.

Voracek, who turns 26 next month, is coming off a breakout season that saw him score 22 goals and a career-high 81 points in 82 games — tied with division rival Alex Ovechkin for fourth in the league. He was also elected to his first All-Star Game (where he tied Mario Lemieux's record for points, with six), and was elected as a First Team All-Star at season's end.
In four seasons with the Orange and Black, Voracek has scored 85 goals and 238 points in 290 games. He's missed only four games in his Flyers career, and was awarded his first Golden Stick Award as the Czech Republic's best player.
As a result of the deal, the Flyers will have close to $61 million spent over 15 players — with more contracts possibly on the way, as Brayden Schenn, Radko Gudas and Brandon Manning are set to hit restricted free agency.
Earlier this offseason, GM Ron Hextall expressed that a deal with the Czech winger would be done by training camp. Obviously, the deal was done well in advance.
