Members from all decades of Flyers hockey will take the ice once again, as the Flyers Alumni association will host an Orange and Black Alumni Game.
The game, scheduled for Feb. 5 at Reading's Santander Arena (home of the Flyers' ECHL-affiliate Reading Royals), will feature an intrasquad Orange vs. Black game. Tickets and VIP packages are available through the Royals' website.
Confirmed participants include Kimmo Timonen, Danny Briere, Bob Clarke, Paul Holmgren, Brad Marsh, Bob 'the Hound' Kelly, Dave Poulin, Brian Propp, Joe Watson, Bill Clement and Ray Allison. Full rosters will be announced at a later date, though the possibility is still open that Briere and Timonen will get to face off against the same general manager that brought them to Philadelphia in the first place.
This will not be the first game this season that the Flyers have involved themselves in at an affiliate's arena, as they hosted the New York Islanders at Allentown's PPL Center for a preseason game in September. It will be their first game at Santander Arena since it opened in 2001, and will help expand their partnership with the Royals since affiliating with them last season.
The Flyers Alumni Association has remained active in a number of games over the years, to help fundraise for various charities in the Delaware Valley. Their next scheduled charity event is scheduled for Dec. 27, where they will face off with members of the Cherokee (N.J.) Chiefs Alumni in the annual Jeff Burd Memorial Game.
