It may be a new week, but Chuck Fletcher continues to work the trade market and made another move on Monday.
The Flyers traded forward Ryan Hartman to the Dallas Stars for forward Tyler Pitlick, Fletcher announced on Monday afternoon.
Pitlick, 27, scored eight goals and had 12 points in 47 games for Dallas last season. He scored 14 goals and had 27 points for the Stars in the 2017-18 season.
Prior to his time in Dallas, Pitlick played in parts of three seasons with the Oilers, totaling 11 goals and 14 points in 58 games.
Pitlick is under contract for the 2019-20 season with a $1 million cap hit.
Hartman, 24, was acquired at the trade deadline from Nashville in the Wayne Simmonds trade. Hartman scored two goals and had six points in 19 games.
Hartman is a restricted free agent for the Flyers, so his rights will now head to Dallas where a deal will have to get completed. This leaves four restricted free agents left to be signed by the Flyers — Ivan Provorov, Travis Konecny, Scott Laughton and Justin Bailey. Travis Sanheim re-signed with the Flyers for two years earlier in the day.
