The Flyers trimmed their roster on Tuesday, sending three players back to juniors and releasing one more from an amateur tryout.
Nicolas Aubé-Kubel, Samuel Dove-McFalls and Philippe Myers have all been returned to their respective QMJHL clubs (the Val-d'or Foreurs, Saint John Sea Dogs and Rouyn-Noranda Huskies), while Luke Philip was dismissed from his amateur tryout.
Of those four, Aubé-Kubel — one of the team's highest-touted forward prospects — was the only one to see preseason game action. He recorded an assist (on Taylor Leier's second-period goal) with two shots on goal in 12:26 of ice time as the Orange and Black fell 3-2 to the New York Islanders in Brooklyn.
Myers signed an entry-level deal with the club on Monday, and joined the club on an amateur tryout. His shot to crack a spot on the Flyers or Phantoms was slim-to-none. Dove-McFalls was also the Flyers' pick in the fourth round of this year's draft.
Currently, 58 players remain on the camp roster. Preseason action continues tonight at Wells Fargo Center, as the Flyers face the New York Rangers.
