The Flyers took to 1 Liberty Place on Wednesday afternoon to unveil their new, special edition 50th anniversary jerseys to be worn on several occasions during the upcoming season.
The jersey features a new design for the Orange and Black, and adds a new gold color to the mix as well. Player numbers will be written in gold, while the crest on the front and captain patches will feature gold trim. The shoulder also displays the team's 50th Anniversary logo.

The Flyers will wear the jersey 12 times during the upcoming 2016-17 season on the following dates:
- Oct. 20 vs. Anaheim Ducks (Home Opener)
- Nov. 2 vs. Detroit Red Wings
- Nov. 19 vs. Tampa Bay Lightning
- Nov. 25 vs. New York Rangers
- Dec. 3 vs. Chicago Blackhawks
- Dec. 10 vs. Dallas Stars
- Dec. 21 vs. Washington Capitals
- Jan. 7 vs. Tampa Bay Lightning
- Jan. 21 vs. New Jersey Devils
- Feb. 2 vs. Montreal Canadiens
- Feb. 4 vs. Los Angeles Kings
- Feb. 11 vs. San Jose Sharks
Jerseys will be available for purchase starting on Sept. 6.
