The roster continues to dwindle down as the Flyers made more moves ahead of Saturday's preseason game against the Boston Bruins.

Five players were placed on waivers for purpose of being assigned to the AHL. Forwards Petr Straka, Andy Miele, Chris Conner, Greg Carey and defenseman T.J. Brennan were all placed on waivers on Friday. Once their move to the AHL is complete on Saturday at noon, there will be 34 players left on the training camp roster.

The Flyers can finalize the Opening Night roster at 23, meaning 11 players have to be cut before the season opener. Among the 34 left on the roster are Mark Alt and Cole Bardreau, who are both injured and will likely join the Phantoms once healthy.

Among the players still left on the training camp roster are Ivan Provorov, Travis Konecny, Travis Sanheim, Philippe Myers and Sam Morin. All five players are likely to see action on Saturday against the Bruins.

Konency was on a line with Sean Couturier and Jake Voracek, who would be making their preseason debut. On Wednesday, Konecny played with Brayden Schenn and Michael Raffl and turned in a tremendous performance with a goal and assist.

Konecny playing on a line with two NHL players for the second straight game could be an indication of his progress to this point in camp.

Shayne Gostisbehere is also expected to make his preseason debut on Saturday.
