Former Eagles CB DeVante Bausby Signs with Denver Broncos
By Paul Bowman, Sports Talk Philly Editor
Another free agent from the Eagles’ 2018 season has found a new home, and it probably isn’t one that you’d think of off the top of your head.
While players like Jay Ajayi, Stefen Wisnieski, Chance Warmack, Mike Wallace and Tim Jernigan remain unsigned, one of the Eagles very deep corners has found a new home.
On Thursday, Benjamin Allbright, host of Orange and Blue 760, reported that DeVante Bausby had signed with the Denver Broncos.

Bausby is coming off of a great performance with the San Antonio Commanders of the AAF, where he played every week prior to the league shutting down operations and leaving players out to dry earlier this week.
Not only did Bausby tie for the league lead in interceptions and lead the league in interceptions plus pass breakups, but he allowed the second-lowest quarterback rating when targeted in the league.

While the news is certainly good for Bausby, he can now become a concern of how reliable play in the AAF may be.
While Bausby showed some potential in the Eagles preseason games, he was terrible in meaningful games. Bausby was one of the three corners who played when Jalen Mills, Ronald Darby, Sidney Jones, and Rasul Douglas were all hurt with Cre’Von LeBlanc and Tre Sullivan not yet breaking out. LeBlanc was alright, but Chandon Sullivan and, even more so, Bausby were routinely torched until Douglas was able to return and Maddox was able to switch back to corner.
While the Broncos certainly hope Bausby flipped the switch and can now reach his potential with the extra snaps he received, there should be some concern about the fact that one of the first five players signed to the NFL out of the AAF was clearly not playing well in the NFL less than six months ago.
Other former Eagles who played in the AAF but have not signed with an NFL team yet include safety Ed Reynolds, wide receivers Josh Huff and Greg Ward Jr., corners C.J. Smith and Ron Brooks, defensive tackle Winston Craig and quarterback Christian Hackenberg.
