Former Eagles OC Pat Shurmur hired by Vikings
With the hiring of Frank Reich and John DeFilippo earlier this week, the Eagles were inevitably parting ways with offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur.
That became official on Saturday when Shurmur joined the Minnesota Vikings coaching staff in an undisclosed role.
Shurmur had spent three seasons as the offensive coordinator for the Eagles after being a positional coach from 1999 to 2008.
Shurmur spent two seasons as the offensive coordinator for the St. Louis Rams before becoming the head coach of the Cleveland Browns in 2011, posting a 9-23 record in two seasons.
When the Eagles fired Chip Kelly prior to their Week 17 game against the Giants, Shurmur took over as interim head coach for one week. The Eagles won that game, 35-30.
