Former Eagles defensive end Hugh Douglas has been going through some rough times in recent days.  Only several weeks removed from being fired by ESPN after an incident in which Douglas allegedly made racially insensitive comments about coworker Michael Smith.  Tonight comes news of an arrest.   According to Hartford, Connecticut television station WFSB, the incident involves Douglas allegedly strangling a woman:

Police said Douglas got into a fight at a woman at the Marriott Hotel at Adriaen's Landing.

According to court documents, Douglas "grabbed her by the neck" and "slammed her into the walls several times." The court papers go on to say that Douglas told investigators the victim's injuries happened during rough sex.

The woman does not appear to be Douglas' wife, Simona.

The report states that Douglas was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree strangulation.  Douglas has a court date scheduled for October 21.
