Former Phillies Prospect Jarred Cosart To Make Major League Debut

Count me among those who have said, "None of the prospects we have given up have done anything yet."  One of them will be making his Major League debut this Friday: Jarred Cosart.   Cosart, along with first baseman Jonathan Singleton and outfielder Domingo Santana went to the Houston Astros in exchange for outfielder Hunter Pence.  Cosart will be facing the Tampa Bay Rays in his debut.

Pitching for the AAA Oklahoma City Redhawks, Cosart went 7-4 with a 3.29 ERA.  Cosart struck out 93 batters in 93 innings for the Redhawks.

In other former-Phillies-prospect-minor league news, former Phillies prospect Trevor May was an All-Star pitching in AA.  May is 6-5 with a 3.98 ERA for the New Britian Rock Cats of the Eastern League.  He represented the Eastern Division alongside Reading's Jim Murphy and Jesse Biddle.
