The Phillies received catcher Tommy Joseph, outfielder Nate Schierholtz, and Seth Rosin from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for Hunter Pence in 2012. The Phillies have seen Joseph get concussed, Schierholtz be non-tendered, and Rosin taken away from the Phillies in the Rule 5 draft. Rosin has been the property of three organizations since this offseason's Rule 5 draft. He could be headed for a fouth.
Rangers Vice President of Communications John Blake announced yesterday that Rosin was designated for assignment:
Rangers have purchased INF Kevin Kouzmanoff from Round Rock. Will be in uniform today. RHP Seth Rosin has been designated for assignment.

This means that the Rangers have 10 days to decide what to do with Rosin. The Rangers could trade Rosin to another organization that will put him on their major league roster. Or, they could expose Rosin to waviers. If unclaimed, he must be offered back to the Phillies for $25,000. The Phillies probably would take him back, if offered.
Rosin was selected by the New York Mets in this past offseason's Rule 5 draft and traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Rosin made the Dodgers Opening Day roster (the one that played in Australia March 22) and was subsequently cut. Rosin was picked up by the Texas Rangers and made their Opening Day roster, too, the first time in Major League history that a player has appeared on two separate Opening Day rosters.
Rosin did not appear in a game for the Dodgers. In three games of relief for the Rangers, Rosin has given up three runs in four innings. Three of those innings were scoreless innings against the Phillies during the opening series. Rosin earned the win against the Phillies April 2 with two scoreless innings of relief.
Rosin was 9-6 with a 4.33 ERA for the Reading Fightin Phils last season, working mostly as a starter.
