The Philadelphia 76ers added some veterans to their roster this season, signing Jerryd Bayless and trading for Ersan Ilyasova. Prior to the season, though, the Sixers parted ways with one of their veteran big men, Carl Landry. The 33-year-old forward was waived by Philadelphia in August and has yet to land with a team. According to Marc Stein of ESPN, Landry is one of a few players planning to hold open auditions in attempt to get back on an NBA roster.

In addition to Landry, both Jarrett Jack and Mario Chalmers are going to hold open auditions, but unlike Landry, they are coming off of injuries. The Sixers acquired Landry in July 2015 as part of the deal that also brought Nik Stauskas to Philadelphia from Sacramento. With teams now able to sign players to 10-day contracts, Landry could find a himself in a few different places before seasons end.

Landry provided the Sixers with some solid veteran depth during his time in Philadelphia, averaging 9.8 points and 4.1 rebounds in 36 games, shooting 55.6 percent from the floor. He got extended looks when Jahlil Okafor went down with injury during the last part of the 2015-16 season.

Selected with the 31st pick in the 2007 draft by the Seattle Supersonics, Landry is a career 53.5 percent shooter and has posted averages of 10.8 points and 4.9 rebounds over nine NBA seasons.
