A beautiful, sunny day in Port Charlotte, Florida brought about a solid matchup between the Rays' Cy Young award winner David Price and Kyle Kendrick for the Phils.

The Phillies took an early lead in the first inning thanks to an RBI single off the bat Michael Young which scored Freddy Galvis.

Kevin Frandsen made it a 2-0 ballgame in the third with a solo home run to left field. It was his second homer of the spring.

Kendrick got a little roughed up in the third inning. After Chris Gimenez scored on a double from Yunel Escobar, Evan Longoria doubled to bring home Kelly Johnson and Escobar. 3-2 Rays.

Kendrick was done after four today. His line: 4 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 3 K.

All was quiet for both teams' offense after the third inning. Mike Stutes pitched a beautiful fifth inning striking out two, and Mike Adams saw an inning of action allowing just one hit.

Aaron Cook pitched a scoreless seventh inning for the Phils walking one and striking out one. Meanwhile, there was a whole lot of nothing going on for the Phils' lineup. In Price's four innings, he gave up eight hits. After that, the Phils collected just one hit off of Joel Peralta, Jamey Wright, and Kyle Farnsworth.

3-2 was the final this afternoon.

The Phillies will head home to Clearwater after today, and the Rays will follow them there for tomorrow's game at 1:05.
