AHL:
The Lehigh Valley Phantoms hosted the Norfolk Admirals on Saturday night. After being pulled after the first period the game before, Anthony Stolarz was back between the pipes for the Phantoms against former Phantom Yann Danis.
The Phantoms struck early with a goal scored by Austin Fyten, his second of the season, with assists from Jason Akeson and Steven Delisle as the Phantoms jumped out to an early 1-0 lead just over a minute into the game.
Norfolk came back with a goal of their own before the end of the period, and scored the first tally of the second period to take a 2-1 lead.
From there on out it was almost all Phantoms, with Blair Jones picking up 2 goals and an assist over the course of 3 minutes late in the 2nd period. Taylor Leier also picked up a goal and an assist, with Brandon Manning assisting on all 3 goals.
That was all they would need as Stolarz stopped 35 of the 38 shots that came his way for the 4-3 victory.
Blair Jones now has 7 points in just 6 games with the Phantoms, which could lead to a potential recall by the Flyers due to their struggles.
Brandon Manning’s 3 assists gave him 16 points on the season in just 17 games. The Flyers have a wealth of depth defensemen currently, but its always nice to have a trustworthy defenseman waiting in the wings.
ECHL:
The Reading Royals got royally romped by the Greenville Road Warriors on Saturday night by the score of 8 to 3 after defeating them 5-2 the night before.
Greenville scored the first 3 of the night before the Royals got on the board early in the 2nd period.
The Road Warriors scored the next 5 goals before the Royals came back with 2 in the 3rd to make the score a more respectable 8 to 3.
