Future Flyers Report: Do or die for Royals

In this week's Future Flyers Report, we offer an update on CHL playoff action, as well as dire playoff straits for the Reading Royals. There's no Lehigh Valley Phantoms news to report today.

Juniors:

In the ever-thrilling matchup between Rimouski and Val-d'Or, the Océanic currently lead 2-0 after a 4-3 overtime win in Friday's first game, and a 3-0 win the next day. Samuel Morin has been held without a point through both games, while Nicolas Aubé-Kubel assisted in Game 1. The series will continue tonight and tomorrow in Val-d'Or.

Meanwhile in the WHL, the Calgary Hitmen are down 2-0 in their series with Brandon, after falling 9-4 in Game 1 and 3-2 in the second game. Radel Fazleev has one assist in the series — setting up Micheal Zipp to tie Game 2 in the third period — while Travis Sanheim has been held off the scoresheet thus far. Game 3 is set for tonight at Calgary's Scotiabank Saddledome, while Game 4 will be played on Wednesday.

Tyrell Goulbourne and the Kelowna Rockets are currently tied 1-1 with Portland in their conference final, after winning 3-2 on Friday and losing 3-2 on Saturday. Goulbourne has been held off the scoresheet thus far with two penalty minutes. The series continues tonight and Wednesday in Portland, and will shift back to Kelowna on Friday.

ECHL:

The Royals currently find themselves down 3-2 in their series with South Carolina, after winning 4-2 on Saturday and losing 4-3 on Sunday.

Cam Reid added three assists in Saturday's game, while David Marshall, Mike Marcou, Jordan Heywood and Pat Mullane all scored. Connor Knapp made 27 saves on 29 shots.

Marcou, Reid and Sean Wiles all scored on Sunday, while Knapp saved 36 of 40 shots.

The series shifts back to South Carolina tonight at 7:05. If the Royals can win tonight, Game 7 would be played on Wednesday.
